Week 10

Photo shoot ! For my final,  distressed and embroidered two jean jackets. I also used fabric manipulation on one. I redid the buttons gold from silver and I also added gold to the denim. For the net two piece, I combined a denim fabric in between the seams in order to sew the pieces together (the net was too big to be sewn on it's own, so I had to add a more sturdy fabric to hold it together). I also used fabric manipulation for my accessory pieces (Bra and Corset). For the corset I used vinyl and denim and for the bra i used vinyl and a gold trim.

Beading Back stitch bead embroidery technique  Pearl Knotting Technique Add a small drop of Hypo Tube Cement glue to the knot. Using your chain nose pliers, gently close the clamshell bead  tip over the knot. Using the attached needle, string a  bead  on the silk. Insert the tweezers into the knot and grab the silk directly next to the  bead .   This isn't really a specific beading technique, but I added beads to my denim jacket.

Shibori and Batik techniques  Shibori is a Japanese form of dyeing that revolves around different ways of binding and folding fabric to create different patterns, and is most commonly practiced with indigo dye.   To make a batik, selected areas of the cloth are blocked out by brushing or drawing hot wax over them, and the cloth is then dyed. The parts covered in wax resist the dye and remain the original color. This process of waxing and dyeing can be repeated to create more elaborate and colorful designs. After the final dyeing the wax is removed and the cloth is ready for wearing or showing.   What is Batik?
